		<description>I guess the reason is simple: top priority in IE is to make people use it; a standards compliant IE would break on many pages which code rely on old IE bugs and/or limitation. Moreover, supporting those badly coded pages will make standards compliant browsers to fail on those pages, which makes the adoption of those competing browsers slower.

Thus, they are not dumb indeed :)

What can we do? I agree the designers movement refered by João Carvalhinho, and add that we all non-designers should nag pages that do not respect the standards to change.</description>

Fully embrace the standards and drop IE6 Support... It&#039;s not the actual version... there&#039;s IE7 (not much better)
