MacBook Pro 17 vertical blue line
I’m really pissed off. Short story: MacBook Pro 17, HD display, bought this February. Blue line appeared today. I still remember when Apple hardware would work for more than six months.

I still remember when you have to sell your car to buy one Macintosh…
WTF?! Apple should really rethink their industry partners… hardware failures on Apple´s products are so usual this days that´s scaring. And it let “scares” on their costumers…
This is why I usually purchase the service plan from PC Connection (even if I didn’t buy the unit there) instead of (or in addition to) AppleCare. Three years of hardware protection costs much less than one screen. BTW, this endorsement is submitted without compensation of any kind — I just don’t want to see people having bad experiences.
I do have an AppleCare for this machine, but I had to buy it in UK. Unfortunately, Apple still doesn’t sell AppleCare packages in Portugal. Anyway, even knowing that the screen will be replaced, it’s completely unacceptable. I know a lot of people who own a Mac, and the vast majority of them already had problems with their hardware. This was NOT like that before. Apple hardware quality is crap now. It stinks. The only thing that keeps me buying Macs is Mac OS X.
I’ve had the same problem and they have replaced the whole lcd-panel..!
