Are you sure the disks are OK? You might have a damaged disk. Test it individually on the computer itself, using badblocks or so.

Mine was working with Seagate 1.5tb drives for a while, then decided to rebuild. It got up to 59% rebuild and got stuck! :-( Waiting to hear back from Stardom tech support (if they exist)

everything is ok now… :-) connected it to a sata connector on the mobo and everything is fine! Silicon Image Sil 3114 Softraid 5 controller does not work with this casing….

It should work with USB, altought slower, much slower. Turn off the power on the casing before switching from esata to USB and viceversa, I belive the casing has to reset itself. I don’t recall if the drives were formatted or not. I don’t belive so, I think I inserted them and did a writing-zeros formatting.

I have two 500 GB hard drives in RAID 1 inside de Stardom RAID case. The case is plugged, via eSata, to one of the SATA connectors of my G5 motherboard. Everything is working fine since day 1. I use Retrospect to backup my stuff to the RAID, and Retrospect is very, very picky with errors. If data was being corrupted, it would scream for sure.

I would try to use the motherboard socket in your case, to try to isolate the problem. It’s also possible that you got a faulty case.

redirecting data to other disks as i write this, to try removing the RAID 0 array, if that dont work ill try it directly in the mobo sata controller via eSATA bracket!

my suspision is RAID–> RAID wont work… how is your setup?

Got mine today along with two samsung spinpoint 1 TB disk and cant seem to get it working! I have a raid controller, some silicon image device, that already has a RAID 0 array on it, this controller has two eSATA connections, wich i hook the SOHORAID 3620 to… neither win2k3, vista, xp og server 2008 finds the device!

Any ideas anyone???

Have you tested the hard drives individually? You can also try to upgrade the internal firmware, although you need a PC with a serial port… What kind of problems did you have?

I never got that to work properly with 1 TB disks… :/
